Mason Antonio Fardowe has written, and will direct, feature film Bullion

A Ramsgate-based actor who recently appeared in director Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has now written a feature film.

Mason Antonio Fardowe landed the role of Keith – foot soldier to Bobby Glass played by the legendary Ray Winstone – following just 12 weeks at drama school.

Following that success, the 50-year-old has now written feature film Bullion and wants local people to get involved when auditions launch in January next year.

The heist film explores the world of crime and gold with a daring gold reserve robbery at the Bank of England. A team of skilled thieves plan a complex heist, walking a thin line between success and disaster.

The movie explores the dark side of trust and betrayal in the criminal world and , as the thieves face their personal demons and growing paranoia, the tension builds.

Mason, who moved to Ramsgate from London a little over five years ago, will also have a role in the film as well as be writer and director.

He said: “I wrote it and have a great production team. It has been a long time in the making but now we are ready to announce i and I think the general public deserve a shot.

“We will be casting for auditions in January and going into production in June 2025.

“I also have some big names interested but all will have to go through the audition process.”

Locally, Mason will be auditioning for one female lead aged 25-35 , four male leads, three between the ages of 24-34 and one aged 40-60. There will also be extra roles to be announced.

Talking to The Isle of Thanet News earlier this year about gaining his role in The Gentlemen, Mason said: “The experience of working on such a significant production was both surreal and rewarding, affirming my belief in the power of perseverance.

“Throughout my journey, I’ve drawn inspiration from British actors like Anthony Hopkins and Ray Winstone, fuelling my dream of collaborating with renowned directors like Guy Ritchie.

“I’ve learned firsthand that success in this industry requires resilience and the ability to embrace rejection, as exemplified by the incredible journey of artists like Olivia Colman.”
