St Joseph’s pupils explore Ramsgate Tunnels

Exploring the Tunnels

As part of their WWII history learning Year 6 pupils from St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School embarked on an Explorer Tour of Ramsgate Tunnels this week.

The tour began in a 150 year old Victorian Railway Tunnel where they watched a short film about Ramsgate under attack.

They then headed off into 1.2 km of purpose built Air Raid Precaution tunnels where thousands of people took shelter under the town of Ramsgate during the Second World War.

Year 6 Teacher Mrs. Osborne said the day had been an amazing learning adventure for the young explorers!
