A Margate man has pleaded guilty at court to multiple traffic offences following a police pursuit in Faversham.

At around 10.15am on Monday 23 September, a Kent Police motorcyclist requested the driver of a flat-bed truck to stop as it travelled along the A2 London Road.

The vehicle was not stopped, and whilst it was being pursued, two police vehicles were damaged after the truck was reversed into them.

An officer suffered a cut and bruising during one of the collisions. The flat-bed vehicle was found unattended in Athelstan Road at around 11.20am and the driver, Frazer Higgins, was found nearby and arrested.

On Tuesday 1 October, Higgins, of Canterbury Road, Westbrook, returned on bail and was charged with two counts of dangerous driving, two counts of driving whilst disqualified, two counts of no insurance and fraudulently using a registration mark.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court on the following day. He was remanded to be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.

Detective Inspector Martin Davies said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who responded to our appeal for information following this incident. The response from Faversham residents was outstanding and proved crucial to our investigation.”
