Filming for Chanel 4’s comedy series Big Boys 3 is taking place in Thanet today (July 11).
Crews and cast have been shooting scenes at the Lido for the third series of the comedy which is created, written and narrated by comedian Jack Rooke.
The story, adapted from his stand-up material, follows Jack as he deals with the grief of his dad’s death and then goes on to university where he explores his sexuality.
Dylan Llewellyn stars as teenage Jack who meets ‘mature’ student 25 year old Danny (Jon Pointing) and ends up as his room-mate.
The second series followed newly-out Jack, and boisterous Danny, on their journey and the third series, confirmed last month, is now being filmed.
The series is based on Rooke’s comedy stage shows Good Grief, Happy Hour, and Love Letters which are loosely based on his own life.
The series has been nominated for a number of awards, scooping Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards Best TV situation comedy in 2022.
Jack is a long-term comedy ambassador for suicide prevention charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
