New music video to be released by young producer through Cliftonville’s Tonetic Records

The music video for You can be viewed from June 14th

A dance and electronic music producer working with Cliftonville’s Tonetic Records will release the music video for her self-produced  dance floor filler, “You” tomorrow (June 14).

The video by ellhan, directed by Tolu Oshodi and featuring Hannah Noonan, will be available to view on the Tonetic Records Youtube channel.

“You” inverts the song’s story of dance floor romance by depicting a rift between ellhan and the track’s vocalist Hannah Noonan, highlighted during a sold out ellhan show at ‘WhereElse?’ Margate.

“You” released as a single on February 2 this year and has since had radio play on ‘BBC Radio Kent: Introducing’.

“You” is ellhan’s third single release with Tonetic Records, a youth lead project produced in partnership with ArtsEducationExchange, which helps young people to shape their future in music. Tonetic Records are funded by Arts Council England.

The video was filmed at WhereElse? a grassroots music venue based in ‘The Centre’.

It was filmed and edited by Steve Kreeger and directed by Tolu Oshodi, who is from Margate and is an Open School East graduate.

For the video ellhan took on a role as producer, working with Tolu on the pre-production, scripting the video, planning the video’s shot list with Tolu and collaborating with her to create the video’s treatment.

The filming involved 30 young people from Thanet as extras who were invited to take part through an open-call sent out through Tonetic Records and Arts Education Exchange. The filming day was a rewarding and fun learning experience for the young people involved, many of whom had never been part of a film project before.

This music video project was overseen by Tonetic Records’ label lead, Tom Postgate, who is from Herne Bay.

He said: “The Tonetic Records project is all about providing young artists with opportunities to try out new things and develop new skills which will aid their futures as industry professionals. The video shoot was an amazing experience for all the young people involved, who all did an amazing job on the day, and it was an exciting challenge for us as budding producers.”

ellhan is a recent university graduate from Canterbury Christ Church. Writing her first song only last year she has gone from strength to strength, garnering support from BBC Radio Kent’s Abbie McCarthy, who in May this year gave ellhan an ‘inspirations guest mix’ slot on ‘Klaverson’s EP Listening Party’.
