The WonderWorks, which opened at the former Hornby Visitor Centre in Margate last October, is offering a series of fun activities this Autumn and Winter.
The WonderWorks is an immersive experience inspired by the UK’s best known hobby brands – Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Corgi and Pocher- based at part of the former factory that has been home to the brands for some 70 years.
As well as being able to explore the miniature worlds and exhibition pieces, there are exhibits and layouts that cater to speed freaks, engine geeks, and car connoisseurs, a chance to discover the history of the company and to learn how Hornby, Airfix, CORGI, Scalextric and Pocher make their models and kits and an opportunity to relax at the onsite café.
The venue also offers visitors the chance to join special events and workshops throughout the year.
This Autumn people can enjoy creating their own Aardman characters, decorate spooky treats for Halloween and get creative at Christmas workshops.

Make your own Aardman characters
Monday 28th & Tuesday 29th October
This autumn half term, join us the Wonderworks to experience the fun of making some of your favourite Aardman characters!
The session will be run by an expert model maker from Aardman, who’s worked on some of their best loved productions. They will have lots of great anecdotes and insights into the wonderful world of Aardman to share too!

Halloween Fun at The WonderWorks

Christmas Shortbread Decorating
November 30 & December 1, 10am-2pm, £3.00pp
Get ready for Christmas by decorating delicious shortbread cookies. A perfect activity to get you into the festive mood and just £3 per person.
Christmas Airfix Bauble Making
December 14 at 10am – December 15 at 3pm, £5.00pp
Join the team for a special bauble-making workshop where you can paint your own Airfix soldier to place inside a Christmas bauble. This unique craft makes a perfect gift or decoration for the holiday season. £5 per person for this event.
