Join the parade at this year's Ramsgate carnival

It’s carnival day in Ramsgate tomorrow (July 23).

The floats will be gathering at Royal Esplanade from noon ready for judging and the parade later in the afternoon.

There is also entertainment on Government Acre with a funfair and bands.

Last year thousands of people turned out to line the route and cheer on the 70 floats, which included entries from Kustom Fit, carnival courts, Thanet School of Dance, Salute Performing Arts, Ramsgate Rockets, the Sadler’s Inn at Minster and town mayor Trevor Shonk.

When it all happens

Funfair at Government Acre from 11am to 7pm

Mazz Rhodes playing between noon and 12.45pm and again at 3pm

Angelo Triston band playing at 12.45pm till 1.45pm

2pm all visiting carnival courts will curtsey in the arena to the Mayor and Mayoress

3pm Judges are sent out with certificates and trophies for float competition winners

4pm The Parade begins

Royal Esplanade – St Augustine’s Rd – Paragon – Royal Parade – Harbour Parade – Harbour Parade – Madeira Walk – Wellington Crescent – Plains of Waterloo – King St – Queen St – West Cliff Rd – Grange Rd – Royal Esplanade – Finish.

Road closures will be in place
