A series of free singing workshops are taking place in the run up to the Ramsgate Festival next month.
The sessions are inspired by Handel’s Semele, Garsington Opera’s new production which is screening on the launch day – July 22 – of the Ramsgate Festival on Ramsgate Main Sands.
Those taking part will work with Garsington Opera for All singers and musicians over a number of afternoons before a series of Pop-Up Opera performances throughout Ramsgate town centre on Saturday 22nd July. The ‘cast’ will create an awesome operatic royal wedding for the general public – expect lots of confetti.
In the evening settle on Ramsgate Main Sands for the opera on the beach screening of Semele.
The sessions are led by director, Tania Holland Williams and organised by Looping the Loop, Adventures in Performance
All ages welcome regardless of ability.
No need to be able to read music, or to sing (bell ringers are needed too).
No fees involved, all music materials provided
Remaining sessions taking place are on July 1, 8 and 21 July in central Ramsgate. Participants need to be able to attend all three.
