In the last eight months, the award-winning Stage Door Theatre Company has produced shows Sweeney Todd and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Now the company is preparing to audition for its next production, which will be choreographed by a West End star.
In the Heights will be performed at the end of August at the Granville Theatre, Ramsgate, and now is your chance to get involved.
Stage Door say the show has a unique style of the music and the storytelling.
It started on Broadway in 2008 and has since won three Olivier awards, 4 tony awards and a Grammy.
Lin-Manual Miranda is the man behind the music and lyrics for In the Heights. He also wrote the critically acclaimed Hamilton and the musical score to Moana.
It is a vibrant, funny, and life-affirming story that explores the issues affecting society through modern dialogue and dance.
In the Heights brings together a mix of salsa, merengue, soul, hip-hop and RnB. It will not only appeal to people who love the Latin groove, and musical theatre but also those who don’t usually go for a musical.
Stage Door has original West End, In the Heights cast member Dominic Spin choreographing the show. This give dancers a chance to work on a project and be taught by a professional team. Dominic Spin has also starred in the West End hits Fame and Five Guys Named Mo.
Stage Door is auditioning people for lead roles, ensemble members and featured dancers. Age ranges are from 16 years up to adult.
The open audition is for newcomers right through to experienced performers.
