A warning has been issued after a reported assault on a 27-year-old woman in Cliftonville.
The woman’s mother-in-law, who has asked that the victim is not identified, posted to social media to say the attack happened on Thursday at around 9.30am in the alley leading from Northdown Park Road to the Tesco Metro in Northdown Road.
Posting to social media she said: “Yesterday morning my daughter in law was hit round the back of the head in an attempted robbery. Luckily workmen nearby scared him off. After waking up very unwell this morning and spending the day at the QEQM she has a hairline fracture of the skull and a small bleed.
“Had it not been for the workmen it doesn’t bear to think what could have happened. This happened just into the alleyway running behind Cliftonville Primary School. Please ladies don’t take any chances, police have yet to find him.”
The woman said the attacker was 6 ft tall, well built and bald.
He was wearing a light blue parker jacket with no hood.
The mother-in-law says it has been reported to police and also to the school.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police is investigating a report of an attempted robbery in Cliftonville.
“It was reported that between 9am and 9.10am on Thursday 29 March, a woman in her 20s was walking along an alleyway off Northdown Road, when she was approached by a man.
“The victim reported she was hit over the back of the head before being asked for money. When members of the public intervened, the man left empty-handed towards Northdown Road.
“The suspect is described as white, aged in his late 30s, 6 ft tall with a large build and bald. He was reportedly wearing a baby blue jacket.”

Going by the area and the “man’s” modus operandii, one doesn’t need to wonder too long what this creature’s ethnic origins are.

Interesting, as on another Kent news website the mother in law is named, where she works, where the victim lives & where her children attend school. Guess they have very little journalistic standards as it regards protecting people, unlike yourself.
Oh dear, that’s unfortunate
It is easy to hide and surprise anyone on this footpath as it is left to become overgrown by the council. Not surprised as it has happened before. Before ethnic origins were ever a problem for some.
