Wanderers completed their home league fixtures with a  thumping seven tries defeat for their Beckenham based opponents.

The visitors started brightly and were ten points up after eight minutes. A try for Charlie Knight was converted by Zac Ward who minutes later crossed the line himself: his conversion and a penalty opened up a 17-10 lead for the hosts. In the final play of the first half Knight scored his second try to make it 22-10 at the break.

Four minutes into the second half an outstanding individual try from Knight brought Thanet the try bonus point. Four minutes later the Club Vice Chairman Andy Letts touched down after a well worked forwards’ movement only for Knight to register his four-timer as he again powered his way to the line.

Ward converted all three tries from the ten minute blitz to put Wanderers ahead 43-10. Dunstonians replied with a couple of tries before Club Chairman Danny Clement emulated Lettsy, his deputy on the club committee, when he led a powerful drive to the line. Wards conversion brought up fifty points to which he contributed twenty.

Wanderers final league match of the season is on Saturday away to Ashford who are doomed to relegation. Wanderers sit third in the league with promotion no longer a realistic possibility. The 2s are in second place in premier 2 East and are at home to Deal looking for the win and other results to go their way in order to be crowned champions.
