Two people have died in a crash in Minster

Two people have died following a crash in Minster.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at around 9.10pm yesterday (23 October) on the A299 Hengist Way, near Manston airport.

It involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van, travelling in the direction of Ramsgate, and a white Toyota Aygo which had stopped behind a blue Renault Clio.

The two people who had been travelling in the Toyota were standing near the vehicle and were also struck. They died shortly after.

They were a 49-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, from the Broadstairs area, and both died shortly after.

Officers would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles involved in the moments leading up to the incident.

  1. This whole road has been badly designed ending in a nightmare situation at the Lord Of The Manor traffic lights/roundabout with no hard shoulder to pull over into if your vehicle breaks down. I have been involved with a similar experience here just a month ago and it was frightening trying to put a tow rope on the car broken down with vehicles speeding past so close. Changes need to be put in place for sanctuary, and especially by the traffic lights.
