Broadstairs Cricket Club juniors completely dominated the Thanet Indoor Cricket junior leagues and cup competitions, winning every category and – in some cases – also finishing as runners up!
At the annual presentation ceremony held at the East Kent Sports Centre in Ramsgate on Friday (April 21), the teams picked up the awards for:
- Under 11s – league and cup winners;
- Under 13s – league and cup winners;
- Under 15s – league and cup winners (and also runners up in the league).
Nathan Fox, captain of the all-conquering Under 15 side, also picked up a special award as player of the season at junior level.
In total, over 100 youngsters from East Kent competed in over 50 matches across the three age groups during the indoor season.
Andy Marshall, from Broadstairs Cricket Club, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the club, following on from the Under 13s winning the National Championship outdoors last year and the men’s team finishing up as National Runners-Up in the recent indoor championships.”
