Thirteen firefighters tackle Margate house blaze

Around 13 firefighters and three fire engines are at the scene of a fire in Ethelbert Road, Margate.
An emergency 999 call was received by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s Control Centre just before 6.30pm. Fire crews were immediately sent, arriving on the scene within minutes, to find the fire in a ground floor front room.

All occupants of the three floor building have been accounted for and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using two hose reels, a covering jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the blaze.

Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service are also at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
