Music therapy has always pivotal to the treatment of Alzheimer patients, so it seems fitting to use music as a base for a fundraiser. Expect Disco, Nu-Jazz, Lo-fi House and World Music (maybe not your typical treatment, but it might be in the year 2050 if we don’t act now!)

All entry fees go to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Saturday

First Hand Experiences exploration at  Garden Gate Project in Margate for 3-11 year olds.

In the morning, there will be whole food adventures including growing, harvesting, cooking and feasting. Parents and guardians are also invited to share lunch made by the children.

After lunch there will be immersive theatre and original song followed by arts and crafts.

Between these activities children will snack on their own handmade treats and drinks, learn new forest school games and relax with their new friends in the safety and warmth of the magical garden space.

First Hand Experiences clubs at the Garden Gate are aimed at creating something for the community. There are a small number of bursary places still available for their events.

Burton at the Theatre Royal

Burton vividly presents the life of the great Welsh actor in his own words from humble beginnings to Hollywood mega-stardom. Beautiful women (not least Liz Taylor), alcohol, wealth, stage and screen are the threads woven into this sad, happy, exuberant often hilarious one-man show. Drink was the only real anodyne to his deteriorating health and mental state, his doomed tempestuous relationship with Taylor and his constant guilt over the abandonment of his family.

Rhodri Miles, (Game of Thrones, Eastern Promises, Atlantis) takes on the role of the younger Burton.
