The Dreamland Trust  has received £50,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The grant will be used to create community projects.

Last year more than 7,000 people visited the Dreamland Trust’s two exhibitions and relived their memories of the amusement park.

Dreamlandscapes, which featured paintings of Dreamland from the 60s by Barry Kirk, and author Nick Evans’ Memories of the Dream Factory exhibitions ran from April to November.

The Dreamland Trust is keen to involve the community in its future plans and projects and will be announcing the first of these within the next few weeks.

Bernie Morgan, Chair of the Dreamland Trust, said “These are very exciting times for the Dreamland Trust. We are excited and very grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for their support. We have a number of projects planned for the coming year and this grant will enable us to build a robust platform with which to deliver them.”

The Dreamland Trust was established in 2009 following a successful campaign to save Dreamland from redevelopment. The Trust is committed to preserving and protecting the rich history of Dreamland and Margate through learning, school activities, volunteering and interpretation opportunities and community engagement.
