After successive League defeats Thanet Wanderers were back on winning form against Gillingham Anchorians on Saturday with a 44 – 5 win. First half tries from Zac Ward, Tom Ash and Callum Doody plus a penalty and conversion from Ward gave them a 20-5 half time lead.

In the second half Wanderers quickly secured the try bonus point through a try from vice captain Brett Scott. A try double from Charlie Knight plus one from Andy Letts together with two conversions from Ward  secured the convincing win and ensured Thanet retained second place in London League (3).

On Saturday 11 March Wanderers will entertain Pulborough, who now top the table, in a crucial match for both sides. Kick off has been brought forward to 2pm so that the England V Scotland match can be watched afterwards.
