Teenagers arrested in connection with ‘carjacking’ robbery in Ramsgate

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a report of robbery where a man was forced out of his car,  which was then stolen

Kent Police received.a report of the robbery in Ramsgate between 2.50am and 2.55am on Sunday 28 January.

The victim was driving an Audi along Newington Road from the direction of Whitehall Road. As he was turning left into Stirling Way two men in a BMW pulled in front of his car, forcing it to stop.

They threatened him and when he got out of the car they are reported to have taken  it. Officers conducted a search of the area. The police helicopter was also deployed.

The Audi was stopped by police in School Lane at midday on Sunday and an 18-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He has been released pending further enquiries.

A 19-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested today, (Tuesday 30 January), on suspicion of robbery. He is currently in custody.
