A teenager has been arrested as part of ongoing work by officers to tackle anti-social behaviour in Margate.
The 15-year-old, from Broadstairs, was arrested by patrols in a car park in College Walk, Margate during the early evening of Thursday 30 November.
The arrest was in relation to an incident on 21 November in which a car windscreen was reportedly damaged whilst parked in the car park.
The teenager, who was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and possession of cannabis, currently remains in custody.
Officers from Margate Task Force and the Thanet Community Policing Team have been carrying out patrols of the area following concerns of anti-social behaviour.
During the evening, officers gave a dispersal notice to a 13-year-old girl for abusive language. They also dispersed a further five teenagers aged 15 and 16 years old following reports of antisocial behaviour in the area.
Community Safety Unit Sergeant James Ross said: “We take reports of antisocial behaviour seriously. Such behaviour – although usually caused by a minority – is not acceptable and our officers will take action to combat any issues.’”
