Take a look inside this amazing new barber’s bus at Westwood Cross

Anton Antoni's new barber's bus

A barber’s bus business at Westwood Cross has been so successful that owner Anton Antoni has invested in an amazing new upgrade.

It is two years since the dad-of-four launched his mobile barber business in a converted Army cadet van and services have been so popular that he has now traded in the van for a fully converted and spectacularly wrapped 22 seat bus.

The 28-year-old, who lives in Ash with wife Marion – also 28 – and kids India, Jude, River and Beau, spent three months converting the vehicle after buying it in Derby.

The overhaul included a complete wrap from Mirage Signs in Minster.

Anton’s barber bus is at Westwood Cross from Wednesday to Saturday every week from 8.45am to around 7pm.

The barber has once again transformed the inside of the vehicle with hand-picked items, such as an ornate, old fashioned cash register, leather sofas, plush barber chairs and pictures ranging from the world of movies to pub memorabilia.

There is also music and Nintendo Switch!

Anton first thought of the mobile barber idea when he was 16 and starting out in the trade. It took 10 years but his dream was realised two years ago when he customised the cadet van.

The venture appears to have been a cut above the rest with so many customers flocking for his services that he has now taken on another barber.

Anton said: “It’s very exciting. When you expand and take an even bigger risk you always hope it will pay off.

“It certainly has the support from new and existing customers, that has been amazing! One of the main reasons for expanding was to give my clients more room and comfort whilst waiting. Space for an extra barber keeps the wait time down.

“I have introduced a loyalty scheme called swipii which is all digital, meaning there’s no disappointment from losing your usual loyalty card.”
