Success for Thanet Roadrunners at Wingham 10K

A photo finish confirmed Jo Holl (left) as the Veteran 50 competition winner

There were some great performances from Thanet Roadrunners Athletic Club at the 30th holding of the Wingham 10K on September 10.

Not only did Owen Mitchell and Chris Brenchley finish in the top ten, but Jo Holl won the Veteran 50 competition for women, with a photo finish in front of fellow club member Nicola Boyes.

There were a total of 15 club members who turned out for both races which took in some scenic countryside and some of the prettiest villages in Kent. The course, classified as undulating, and the warm conditions together with cross winds provided a challenge for all the runners.

However, all the runners were rewarded at the finish with a much talked about memento, a unique ‘Trotter’ clay medals specially made by Canterbury Pottery.
