SpeakUpCIC to bring Christmas Extravaganza to Turner Contemporary

SpeakUpCIC bring Listen Up II to Turner Contemporary

SpeakUpCIC, the independent mental health support organization based in Thanet, is promising a Christmas Extravaganza on December 17.

Free of charge and open to the public SpeakUpCIC is inviting people to join them for an afternoon of drama, poetry readings, musical performances and an exhibition of art at Turner Contemporary.

Listen Up II: The Christmas Extravaganza follows on from the group’s successful poetry event at Turner Contemporary in October, which had more than 80 participants, including Mayor of Margate Cllr Rosamund Dixon who formally opened the event.

Maggie Gallant, SpeakUpCIC Managing Director, said: “Listen Up II: The Christmas Extravaganza’ is an event to raise people’s awareness of the importance of good mental health and to celebrate people’s success beyond experiences of mental health difficulties.

“This event is particularly relevant in these darker winter months and over the Christmas period, where there can be a lot of unmet expectations around family and other personal connections. This event seeks to cheer and promote mental health strategies and, of course, have some fun.”

SpeakUpCIC is an independent mental health community interest company, serving Thanet, Ashford, Dover, Deal and Sandwich.

Listen Up II takes place on December 17 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm
