Six people arrested in connection with the alleged supply of class A drugs in Margate have been released pending further enquiries.

Kent Police officers attended a property in King Street on Tuesday (2 May) and were supported by armed units as a precaution.

A 45-year-old woman from Margate, a 27-year-old woman from Ashford, a 31-year-old man from Margate, a 26-year-old man from London, a 21-year-old man from London and a 16-year-old girl from Hertfordshire were all taken into custody.

Officers also carried out a search of a vehicle connected to the investigation and seized approximately 700 small packets of what they believe to be cocaine and heroin in addition to about £2,000 in cash.

Armed police were also in Cliftonville on Sunday.
