Seattle band kicks off European tour in Margate tonight

Seattle’s Chastity Belt are set to kick off their European tour in Margate.

The indie rock quartet, who are signed to Sub Pop sister label Hardly Art, have been touring North America extensively to promote the band’s third LP ‘I used To Spend So Much Time Alone’ and will be continuing the charge with a European leg of promotional dates at Margate’s The Dug Out in Fort Hill tonight (September 4) from 7pm.

The band consists of friends Julia Shapiro (guitar/vocals), Lydia Lund (lead guitar), Annie Truscott (bass) and Gretchen Grimm (drums).

After meeting at a small college town in Washington Chastity Belt decided to up sticks to cut their teeth in Seattle’s DIY community and have gone on to support and tour with globally championed indie singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett and label mates Protomartyr.

Main support to Chastity Belt at the Dug Out and for the duration of the band’s UK dates will be Margate 4-piece, Gang.


Advance tickets for the show at The Dug Out are £7 (plus booking fee)
