Ramsgate RNLI rescued four people aboard a cabin boat that suffered engine failure off Joss Bay yesterday (May 29).

The all-weather lifeboat was launched at 3.10pm after the people onboard the craft hit trouble.

The crew found the craft and passed a line to tow the boat slowly, so they could recover their anchor..

After several attempts at recovering their anchor which was held fast on the sea bed they decided to cut the anchor line.

The craft was then towed into the inner harbour in Ramsgate.

Earlier in the day the lifeboat crew had towed in a 45ft yacht with engine failure and insufficient wind to sail.

The crew was called at 10.03am to assist the craft 16 miles off Ramsgate, near the South Falls.
