Thanks to the fundraising efforts of two local businesses and the support of three local councillors cheques totalling £900 were presented to Ramsgate RNLI on Friday 17 March.

Local artist and owner of Ramsgate’s York Street Gallery, Mike Samson, agreed to donate one of his paintings for a raffle organised by Paul and Clare Ionescu, proprietors of the harbour-side café/bar ‘Coco Latino’ to raise funds for Ramsgate RNLI.

On the night of the raffle draw at the café/bar  town and district councillors Hunter Stummer-Schmertzing and Janet Falcon attended and, being impressed by the fundraising work done and in support of the cause, offered to help using their charity fund. Their colleague, town and district councillor Sarah Larkins, subsequently also expressed a wish to help and all concerned raised the excellent sum of £900.

The cheque was received on behalf of the station by Lifeboat Operations Manager Ray Noble and Crew/ILB Helmsman Wayne Goldfinch.
