Ramsgate carnival organisers want businesses and community groups to join the parade

Join the parade at this year's Ramsgate carnival

Ramsgate carnival organisers are looking for businesses, community groups and organisations to take part in this year’s parade.

The carnival is part of a two day event at Government Acre in Ramsgate on July 22-23. Music, rides, stalls and entertainment will be on offer from noon to 6pm both days.

The carnival leaves from Royal Esplanade at 4pm on the Sunday and travels down to the harbour, the town and back round to Government Acre.

Last year more than 70 floats took part, including ones from Kustom Fit, Thanet School of Dance, Salute Performing Arts, Ramsgate Rockets, the carnival courts and mayor Trevor Shonk.

Pubs such as the Hotel de Ville also took part.

The carnival has taken place in Ramsgate since 1926.

Organiser Mick Pidduck wants to hear from anyone who wants to take part and  help make it just as successful this year.
