Police seize drugs following Broadstairs stop-check

Police have seized suspected drugs and made an arrest while out on patrol in Thanet.

At 11.05am on Thursday (18 January) officers from the Thanet Divisional Support Unit and Community Policing Team were patrolling Fairfield Road, Broadstairs, when they stop-checked a car.

The officers seized a  substance believed to be cocaine from inside the car, as well as mobile phones which were suspected of being used for dealing.

Later the same day, officers also carried out a search at a property in Ramsgate and seized five bags of suspected Class A drugs.

A 31-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested the same day on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

He was released pending further enquiries.
