A police officer has been knocked unconscious after being assaulted by a group of people in St Laurence graveyard at about 9.50pm tonight (February 2)
The officer was treated at the scene for a head injury and has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
Officers are carrying out searches of the local area and are being assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter.
Traffic was being diverted from the St Lawrence roundabout and roundabouts on surrounding roads although access now appears to be open.
No arrests have been made at this time.
