Police investigating report of attack on three women in Birchington

Police are investigating after three women reported being assaulted during an incident in Birchington.

The attacks, believed to have been carried out by a teenage female and an older woman, happened in Station Road at midnight on Saturday.

The three women are believed to have suffered bruising, one a nose broken, a split ear and loose teeth. One woman was left with a trainer imprint on her forehead.

One resident told The Isle of Thanet News that the teenager and her male friends have been terrorising the village.

They added: “We need a police presence in the village and this girl and her thug mates need to dealt with. Some people are too scared to go out.”

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police is investigating three reports of assault in Birchington.

“The reports follow a disturbance in Station Road at around midnight on Saturday 4 November.

“Three people received minor injuries and officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident.

“No arrests have been made.”
