Police investigate road crossing assault in St Peters

Kent Police are investigating a report of an assault in St Peters, Broadstairs, on December 31.

Officers attended the scene in High Street to a report that a man in his 40s had suffered a head injury following an assault while he was using the pedestrian crossing in Church Street at around 2.30pm. He was taken to QEQM hospital.

Two ambulances and a paramedic car also attended the scene.

A 27-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has since been released pending further enquiries.
