A ‘calvalcade’ of black limos escorted through Manston and Ramsgate by police bikers has been spotted by numerous isle residents this morning.
The convoy of four black limos and a silver 4X4 with police motorcycle outriders front and back held up traffic as it headed up Haine Road towards Westwood.
One witness said the cars had American flags and bullet proof windows.
Speculation of an important visitor, however, has been ended with the confirmation by Kent Police that it is actually a police training exercise.
A spokesman said: “This was one of our regular training exercises.”
