Yobs have smashed windows and lights, causing thousands of pounds of damage, at a Ramsgate school.

Kent Police was called at 7.02am today (January 11) to a report  of the destruction at Newlands Primary School in Dumpton Lane.

When officers arrived they also found that the bike shed had been damaged and all the windows on the school mini-bus had also been smashed.  CCTV at the children’s centre on the same site had also been damaged.

Initial enquiries have established that nothing has been taken.

PC  Jason Hills said: “We have conducted enquiries and we believe three men were seen in the area, all wearing dark coloured tracksuits.”

“This was a mindless act of vandalism, costing the school thousands of pounds so we would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch.”

Deputy head teacher David Bailey said: “I can confirm that there was a break into the school and there has been some damage.  There has been no disruption to the education of the children.  As the matter is being investigated by the police, we are unable to comment any further at this time”.

  1. I hope, if and when they find the culprits, they get more than just a mild telling off! They’re not right in the head.

  2. Prosecution and heavy fines are what’s needed. They should pay three times the cost of the damage, plus costs towards detaining them at her majesty’s pleasure.
