Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash in Thanet in which a motorcyclist died.

The collision happened at 11.25am on Sunday (12 March) on the B2190 Spitfire Way, Manston. It involved a black Triumph Speed Triple motorbike travelling towards Thanet and a white Citroen Berlingo travelling in the opposite direction.

Investigating officer Police Constable Jamie Woodhams, from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “It appears that for some unknown reason the motorbike was travelling on the wrong side of the road when it was in collision with the Citroen close to the junction with Alland Grange Lane.”

The motorcyclist, a local man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the Citroen was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

Police Constable Woodhams said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed or heard the collision or from anyone who saw either vehicle beforehand.’
