Pugs were out in force at Ramsgate’s King George VI Park yesterday (May 13).
Owners and their pets, kitted out in an array of weird and wacky outfits, visited the park for the third annual Thanet Pugathon.
Organiser Lucy Cook said despite the gloomy weather the turn-out was good and people enjoyed the day.
The event was raising funds for Guardian Angel Dog Rescue and included a photo booth provided by Fun Pics, stalls and a doggie bakery as well as the popular fancy dress competition.
Lucy said: “I’m still counting the money. It was tough this year as Facebook limits posts and that’s how I mainly communicate and we’re trying to raise more and more money so it’s dependent on the reach really.
“The council fees went up by 600 odd percent to rent the ground and I have to pay out the insurance so I really wanted to push the fundraising to make it worthwhile x
“The doggy bakery was new and went down really well so a big thank you to Paul Bartlett, who made it for us.”
UPDATE: The final fundraising tally was £467.18
