Newington primary is going to rock -and you can join them

Funkle Pie will play at Newington Rocks

Newington is ready to rock with a one-day festival of music and much more in aid of charity.

Newington Rocks is being staged by Newington Community Primary School in its grounds from midday to 6pm on Saturday, July 8.

A full programme of music on two stages features Jaz from noon to 1pm; Funkle Pie from 1pm-2.30pm; Einstein’s Children (below) from 2.30pm-4pm; and Moonlight from 4pm-5.30pm.

A host of fun activities and games include a buzzwire, lil’ jockeys, a gladiator arena, face painting and much more.

Refreshments are available, and visitors can take their own food and drink if they prefer but no barbecues are allowed. Food outlets on site will include a fish and chip van, ice cream, popcorn and candy floss.

All proceeds will go to the CRY charity which enables education and research into Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Head Teacher Cliff Stokes said: “This a fantastic event where the whole community celebrates with an afternoon of music, food, fun and games, all in aid of a brilliant cause.

“Huge thanks go to the organising team, Thanet council, our sponsors, and the musicians who are performing for us throughout.”
