Missing rescue dog Flora has been found

Flora is safely back home

A recently adopted rescue dog that slipped its lead and ran off in Broadstairs on July 17 has been found.

Flora, a six-year-old, female poodle, bolted after being startled by a group of people while being walked.

A huge search and poster campaign took place across Broadstairs and Westwood Cross involving members of the Missing Dogs and Strays in Thanet facebook group.

Flora was found at 3.30am today (July 21) hiding under a car in Crossways Avenue. She is now safely at home with her delighted owners.

She was limping slightly  and covered in burrs and mud but a vet check over has given her the all clear.

Group member Eileen Mellis said: “Her owners, Sandra and Mike, are over the moon to have her home safe and have asked me to make sure everyone is thanked for all the help in getting Flora back where she belongs. Big licks from Flora too!”
