Emergency services have been called to Manston Road in Ramsgate.
Witnesses report police, armed officers, ambulance and fire crews at the St Lawrence end of the road. A police helicopter is also reported to be out above St Lawrence and over Dumpton.
The incident is believed to be centred on St Laurence Church graveyard. Armed police are also reported to be in King Street.
Traffic was being diverted from the St Lawrence roundabout and roundabouts on surrounding roads although access now appears to be open.
Details of the incident are yet to be confirmed.
