Hundreds of children will take part in the 15th annual Skip2bFit primary schools’ challenge next month (March).
Some 30 teams, made up of more than 500 children, are expected to take part in the event at Ramsgate Leisure Centre next Friday (March 2).
The title will be defended by reigning champs St Peter’s Junior School.
Skip2bfit was created by Broadstairs dad John McCormack in 2002. It started in schools in Thanet and has since swept the country – and further afield – not just in schools but also businesses, on-street demonstrations and through public health organisations such as Coventry City Council, Luton Council, Kent County Council and Bath Health Improvement.
The aim is to use specially designed counting ropes to encourage fitness through fun and numeracy.
The challenge takes place from 1pm to 3pm and also includes categories such as best improved and top teacher.
