‘Heinous’ abuser jailed for sex offences against children

Behind bars: Colin Fisher

A 43-year-old man has been jailed for six years after he pleaded guilty to child sex offences between 2015 and 2016.

Colin Fisher, who lived in Ashford at the time of his arrest but then moved to Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, admitted to sexually assaulting a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, four counts of making indecent images, taking an indecent photograph and possessing an indecent photograph.

Kent Police officers arrested Fisher on Thursday 29 September 2016 after executing a search warrant at his Ashford property. His computer and camera equipment were seized and images were discovered.

Fisher was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 25 September.

Detective Constable Jo-anne Gordon said: “Fisher clearly poses a significant risk to children and we are pleased he will now serve time in prison for his heinous crimes. He’ll also remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.

“I would like to reassure the public that Kent Police will always be sensitive when investigating incidents like this and will do everything possible to protect children from people like Fisher.”
