Global entries for the first Wheels and Fins film festival

Films from 13 different countries have been entered for the festival

The first Wheels and Fins International Film Festival has had submissions from 13 different countries spanning across 5 continents.

The festival, which focuses on  independent film, action sports and coastal lifestyles, will include a screening of all the movies at the Palace Cinema in Broadstairs, run by Simon and Corinna Downing.

An eclectic group  from the film world will be judging the entries, including Raindance winner Marc Price, film critic Maxwell Hubbard, Simon Ward from the Palace Cinema, director Dom Bridges and festival organiser Dave Melmoth.

The festival is being hosted with local boutique production company and creative agency Bou Mou Productions, run by husband and wife team Mark and Charlotte Bousfield.

Screening of the official selections will take place at the Palace on August 19 from noon until 7pm. Tickets are £10 on the door.

There will also be presentations from key people in the sports cinema world.

The event will be followed by drinks at Harpers wine bar.

Film festival winners will be screened at the main Wheels and Fins Festival in September.
