If you are travelling on the Thanet Loop Easter Saturday (April 15) then expect plenty of company as 30 pals are heading on the bus route for a charity pub crawl.

The pals are setting off from the Quart in a Pint Pot in Margate at 11am and will board the Loop bus to get to each chosen watering hole across the isle.

The event is organised by friends Gary Johnson, Tom Harling and Trevor Boon and this year will be raising funds for the Beach Within Reach charity.

Making fun accessible

The cause provides all-terrain wheelchairs so the isle’s beaches and surrounding countryside are accessible to everyone.

Beach Within Reach, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, loans the chairs free to anybody who has a mobility impairment. People just need to bring some I.D  and complete a simple form.

The charity needs to raise £40,000 to replace all the existing chairs to ensure it can provide all terrain wheelchairs to Thanet for the next 10 years.

Fancy dress

All revellers on the Loop pub crawl will be turning up in fancy dress and there will be donation buckets if fellow passengers or passers-by would like to donate.

Gary said: “A load of us go out in fancy dress on a Loop bus route pub crawl collecting money for a different charity every year.

“This year it is for Beach Within Reach, and the main idea is to get the name of the charity out there to raise awareness for it while getting much needed funds. We have done charities such as Caring for Connor, Help for Heroes and many more over the years.”

Beach Within Reach donations can also be made via a TextGiving number. Donate by texting BINR14 £2 to 70070
