Family show to pay tribute to Thanet theatrical veteran Joy Clarkson

Jumping for Joy is an afternoon of traditional, live song, dance and comedy paying tribute to Joy Clarkson nearly one year on from her untimely passing.

As one half of theatrical production company Gordon Clarkson Productions, she leaves a legacy of beautiful handmade costumes, painted scenery and props and much more! Over the years, the company toured nationwide and presented plays, summer shows and pantomimes, most notably being the pantomime management for five successive and successful years at the Theatre Royal, Margate.

Joy was highly thought of by all her colleagues in every job but in particular as Followspot Operator, at Margate Winter Gardens, Queens Hall, and Granville Ramsgate for many years.

A performance at Margate Winter Gardens on Sunday, January 7 at 2.30pm will feature some of Joy’s show business friends and colleagues, all of whom are giving their services for free  with all the show proceeds going to Macmillan, The Royal Variety Charity, The Royal Theatrical Fund, The Equity Benevolent Fund, and  The Elizabeth Finn/Turn2Us Charity.

Tickets are £10 and are available from the Winter Gardens Box Office on 01843 292795
