An elderly resident escaped a house fire in Broadstairs this morning with the help of a neighbour.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the fire in a property on Green Lane at half past midnight.
Crews used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to tackle the fire of the ground floor and check neighbouring properties for any spread of flames.
Crews then used of the positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the remaining smoke from the property.
The ambulance service took care of the resident.
Crews left the scene at 2.50am.
