Easter Bank Holiday fun in Thanet for kids and adults

There’s load to do on the isle for Easter. Whether it’s hunts for the kids or beer for the adults, it’s all on offer.

Here’s our round-up of Thanet fun for the bank holiday weekend.

Today (Thursday)

Easter Egg Trail

Broadstairs and St Peter’s Chamber of Commerce host an Easter trail for children up to 11 years and wearing an Easter bonnet or Easter costume.

The trail will be around the shops/businesses in the town. Children taking part will be required to pre-purchase a token.

Tokens on sale at Expressions and Malcolms in the High Street, and the Bottleneck in Charlotte Street.

Thanet Gang Show

13 April – 17 April

Thursday 13th, Saturday 15th and Monday 17th at 7:30pm plus Monday 17th at 2.30pm

Thanet Scouts and Guides present their annual Gang Show.

Filled with song, dance and sketches, the Gang Show gives an entirely different view of Scouting and Guiding. No camp fires, no tents and no “Ging Gang Goolie”, just young people showing their talent on stage.

Ramsgate Tunnels Easter Special Tours

OVERGROUND / UNDERGROUND EASTER SPECIAL TOURS

Join  a guided walk above and below ground following the route of Ramsgate’s famous Wartime Tunnels. The tour will be guided throughout pointing out places of interest above ground and telling the Tunnels story below ground. The last half a mile will be underground when you will be following in the footsteps of those who rushed for cover during World War II. You will make your way into the Victorian Railway Tunnel to visit Tunnel Town before receiving a complimentary tea or coffee.

The tour is approximately one and a half miles long and you will be required to descend a short ladder (2.5 metres) to access the underground section.

Hard hats and torches will be provided whilst underground. Strongly recommended you wear suitable footwear such as boots or flat shoes.

Unfortunately this tour is not suitable for children under 12 years or people with impaired mobility

Star Wars games

There are 30 businesses taking part. Entry forms from businesses including; Nanny’s Attic, Shakey Shakey, House of Elliot, the Beano Cafe and So Very Last Century, Lovetts in the high street, Custom House Information Centre, Homebasics in Queen St, York Street Gallery and the Daily Grind Cafe in Harbour St.

There will be bonnet making workshop, face painting and Joey the Clown will be making animal balloons.

Easter at Westwood Cross

WIN big this Easter

Support your local charity

Westwood Cross’ charity of the year is The Gap Project. An important charity based in Thanet, working to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of local underprivileged and vulnerable people. Westwood Cross is hosting an Easter egg appeal – donate your Easter treats at the kmfm marquee located opposite Primark on Saturday 15th April between 11am – 4pm and help make Easter extra special for the whole community.

At midday on Good Friday and Easter Monday Waterstones at Westwood Cross will be hosting a fun-packed hour of activities. From pin the tail on the Easter bunny, to Easter egg bowling and egg decorating, this free event will delight the little ones this Easter holiday, be sure to arrive by midday for this popular event.

The film children have been waiting for is now out and available to watch at View Cinema at Westwood Cross. Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience promises to be a real treat for all Peppa fans.
