New Labour MP Rosie Duffield is visiting Margate today (July 30).
The Canterbury MP is coming to the isle ahead of the Margate Central by-election that is being held on August 3.
The vacancy was left due to the resignation off Jeff Elenor who has moved away from Thanet.
Ms Duffield won the Canterbury seat in the June snap General Election. The city MP has been Conservative for more than 100 years ago. The win made her the city’s first Labour and first female MP.
The mum-two-of-two is supporting Ian Venables’ bid in the by-election.

Polls are open from 7am to 10pm. Votes can be cast at Union Church, Union Row, Margate, and St Johns Community Centre, Victoria Road, Margate.
Ms Duffield is expected in Margate at noon
