Can you help a family uncover the history of this Margate photographer?

William died in Hill House Hospital

Can you help complete a family history?

Jenny Milverton is appealing for information about  family member William Sidney Campbell Taylor, who was a photographer in Margate.

She has managed to find some details but loses all trace of him in the 1920s.

She said: “I am hoping that somebody may have a recollection of a photographer who was probably working during the 1940s and early 1950s in Margate.

“William Sidney Campbell Taylor was living at 17 Albert Terrace, but died at Hill House Hospital, Minster in November, 1958.

“His death was recorded by his stepdaughter, E.M. Taylor, who gave her address as Crowhill Road, Garlinge.

“Finding out a little more about his later years would help to complete a family history because we lose any record of him in the early 1920s.

“The photograph shows him as a young man in his late twenties, sadly the only image we have. He was a photographer from the 1910s onwards.

“It would be marvellous to find any photographs that he might have taken of Margate, her inhabitants or holiday visitors and to know of the later history of his stepdaughter.”
