Bunnings Warehouse at Westwood nears completion for September opening

Bunnings at Westwood

The new Bunnings store at Westwood is almost ready for its opening next month.

The former Homebase store at Westwood Gateway Retail Park, which was also recently sold, is nearing completion with branding now in place on the outside of the building and most vacancies now been filled.

A Bunnings spokesman said an exact date for the official opening in September will be announced soon.

Bunnings is a home improvement and outdoor living retailer from Australia and New Zealand.

In February 2016 the company bought out Homebase, the second largest home improvement and garden retailer in the UK and Ireland.

Bunnings Warehouse opened its first two stores in St. Albans in February/April 2017. A store in Folkestone opened last month.

The Folkestone store, based at Park Farm, is over 74,000 square feet and employs 95 team members, including 45 in newly-created full and part-time roles. It stocks more than 30,000 different home improvement and garden products, including a mix of international and British brands – from Purdy’s paintbrushes to Ryobi and DeWalt power tools.

Bunnings operates as Homebase out of 251 trading locations, employing over 12,000 staff in the UK and Ireland.

Broadstairs, Sittingbourne and Basildon will be Bunnings’ sixth, seventh and eighth UK pilot stores.

There are expected to be 10 UK Bunnings Warehouses running by the end of 2017.
