Bunnings at Westwood will hold official opening events for staff and customers this month

Bunnings at Westwood

Official opening events for the new Bunnings store at Westwood will take place from next week.

The home improvement and outdoor living store, on the site of the former Homebase shop, has already had a soft opening this week but will hold an event for team members on Tuesday followed by two weekends of fun for customers.

PJ Davis, Bunnings UK & Ireland Managing Director, Simon Woodhall, Bunnings Warehouse Broadstairs complex manager and former footballer and TV sports pundit Gary Pallister will attend the official opening for the team members.

The sportsman, aged 52, was a defender from 1984 to 2001 and is most noted for his nine-year spell at Manchester United from 1989 until 1998. He also played for Middlesbrough and Darlington and was capped 22 times by England between 1988 and 1996. He was born in Ramsgate.

A barbecue will be held for all the team members at the store on the Westwood Gateway Retail Park.

Customer opening events

Official opening weekends for customers will take place later this month and will include an appearance by Peppa Pig. Further details will be revealed soon.

Bunnings Warehouse opened its first two stores in St. Albans in February/April 2017. A store in Folkestone opened last month.

Broadstairs, Sittingbourne and Basildon will be Bunnings’ sixth, seventh and eighth UK pilot stores.

Bunnings operates as Homebase out of 251 trading locations, employing over 12,000 staff in the UK and Ireland.

There are expected to be 10 UK Bunnings Warehouses running by the end of 2017.
