A stunt bike team with a dedicated following will be the centre-piece of a huge, free entry show in Ramsgate this Spring.
The Spring Spectacular, being organised by the Defence of the Nation Museum and RM Consultancy, will take place on Government Acre on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29 and will also feature an aerobatic air display and a Spitfire flyover.
The Drop And Roll stunt performance team, headed up by Danny MacAskill, will take centre stage with shows and signing sessions.
The performance is expected to attract thousands of fans to the isle.
The street trial riders tour the world and are known for incredible bike stunts. The Drop And Roll tour was launched in 2014, when Danny MacAskill teamed up with top street trials riders and friends, Duncan Shaw, Alastair Clarkson and Fabio Wibmer from Austria.
Action on the day will include aerobatics from pilot Lauren Richardson and a display by the Spirit Of Kent Spitfire.
There will be trade stalls and a special appearance with an announcement due nearer to the event.
A “Kidz Zone” will feature children’s rides, face painting and fun activities.
The event will mark the move, and a First World War exhibition, by the Defence of the Nation Museum which has been housed in the Ramsgate Tunnels.
The venue, which first opened its doors in May 2015, is moving to the building known as the “Monkey House” by the boating pool at the West Cliff.
The exhibition, Ramsgate in World War One, will honour those local heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that future generations could enjoy their freedom.
There is also a chance to scoop an Inspired Flow Plus 24-inch street bike, worth £600, at an on-the-day raffle.
Tickets will be £1 each or 6 for £5 on the day of the event and can be bought at the Defence of the Nation Museum gazebo.
All proceeds of the raffle will go to the RNLI.
